Wednesday 9th March is No Smoking Day – this is an annual campaign which encourages people to get support to go smokefree. If you smoke, stopping smoking is the one of the best things you can do for your health. This year Breathe 2025 and Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) are encouraging promotion of the following message – “Don’t give up on giving up. Every time you try to stop smoking, you’re a step closer to success.” This is because it’s very common for people to need several attempts to quit smoking before they are able to stop smoking completely as smoking is such a strong addition for many people.
People that would like local support to stop smoking can contact One You Hounslow, which has stop smoking specialists with many years of experience in helping people to go smokefree. Sometimes people are reluctant to return to the service if they have tried to quit before but were not able to quit. However, our team know how hard it is to stop smoking and that it’s normal for people to need various attempts to stop smoking before they can finally be free of cigarettes. There are lots of different stop smoking medications to try and our specialists have lots of tips around making the process of quitting smoking easier.
