Blackforest trifle
A great recipe that can be eaten for breakfast or as a pudding. Oats are used here; a good source of fibre and this recipe is an ideal one to get more wholegrains.
Ingredients
3 tbs oats
3 tbs plain yoghurt
¼ tsp turmeric-optional
¼ cup milk
1 tbs cocoa powder
1 tsp peanut butter
Handful of almonds
Handful of frozen berries
Squeeze of honey-optional
Method
Mix the oats, cocoa and milk and set aside for 15 minutes or leave to soak overnight.
Mix the turmeric with yoghurt for the yellow colour or leave as plain.
Place the oats at the base of the glass, followed by the yoghurt, add some almonds, nut butter and a squeeze of honey.
Top with berries.
Optional
Add nuts and seeds
Add fresh fruit e.g. banana for the natural sweetness
