Fruit chaat is made up of a variety of fruits, usually served in a liquid. It can be served as an appetiser, dessert, or snack. This is a simple easy recipe using fresh and dried fruit. Instead of using the fruits in this recipe you can use your favourite fruits and don’t have to include dried fruits. The liquid here is tamarind sauce, but alternatives can be juices such as orange, or mango pulp.
Ingredients – Serves 4
2 cups diced melon
1 cup whole grapes
1 banana sliced in circles
1 cup pineapple chunks
2 dates sliced thinly
2tbs mixed dried fruit
2tbs tamarind sauce (dilute with water to desired consistency if necessary)
Chaat masala to taste
Method
Put all the fresh fruit in a bowl first, then throw in the dried fruit (dates and mixed dried fruit) and mix.
Add tamarind sauce and chaat masala to coat the fruit. Best served chilled.
