An ideal winter recipe for breakfast and fulfilling. Porridge is a source of fibre, carbohydrates and keeps us fuller for longer. This is a quick recipe and can even be made the night before.
1 red apple cut into quarters or sliced
1 cup of porridge oats
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup of milk (can be dairy or non dairy)
1-2 medjool dates roughly cut
Handful of almonds
1 tsp tahini or nut butter
2 tbsp of natural yoghurt
Add the apples in a pan with some water and cook the apples until softened. Drain and set aside.
Heat the porridge oats in a pan, along with the milk and cinnamon and gently stir until thick. If you like it runny add more milk or water.
Top the porridge with, apples, almonds, dates, tahini and yoghurt.
