Fruity hearty porridge

Oats are a great source of carbohydrates, they contain a soluble fibre called beta gluten which aids in lowering blood cholesterol. Oats also keep you fuller for longer, they are rich in fibre and other nutrients and a great breakfast option.

Ingredients
2 cups of porridge oats
2 cups of semi skimmed milk or non dairy milk
1 orange zest
Handful of pistachios
1 mango chopped
Handful of strawberries sliced

Method
Add the porridge oats and milk in a large pan and simmer on a low heat until desired consistency. Add more milk if necessary.

Top with fresh fruit, pistachios and orange zest.

Optional
Add nuts and seeds

Use dried or frozen fruit

Add dates for natural sweetness

Add some peanut butter

Try adding some yoghurt
